Our Story

Hi! I’m Neha, a senior from Massachusetts and the founder of Purple Hour.

I started Purple Hour in 2025 after seeing how epilepsy affected my cousin—not only physically, but emotionally, socially, and academically. Her experience made me realize how important it is for young people with epilepsy to have support beyond medical care.

Purple Hour began with a goal of bringing comfort and encouragement to teens navigating epilepsy. Today, we’ve distributed 550+ care kits across five states through hospitals, clinics, and community partners. As Purple Hour has grown, so has our support. We now offer free virtual tutoring to help students stay on track when epilepsy causes them to miss school, along with a virtual peer community where teens can connect with others who understand what they’re going through.

Through everything we do, our goal remains simple: to help young people with epilepsy feel supported, understood, and less alone.
